Ashes 2009The thrilling action of the Ashes is going to be continued at “The Oval” as the host England is getting ready to get up to their pride since 2005. The former Ashes wining captain Michael Vaughan has expressed his hopes that the current English team is quite capable of regaining their lost pride. But in the English team mind the Leeds loss must be playing. Captain Andrew Strauss is hopeful of a winning which could well be enough to make him a Hero over night.

Getting back to the series starting from Cardiff to Leeds England’s performance is quite uncertain. At Cardiff the late 5th day drama must be one of the most exciting days of all time cricket history. England was only able to save the test by the courage of their tail ender batters Stewart Broad, Swann and Anderson will be always remembered for their fighting effort. Australian captain Ricky Ponting was adjudged man of the match but his frustration was noticeable at the prize giving ceremony as he was eagerly waiting for an ashes win which did not come actually. The 2nd test at lord’s which England finished it with a winning note was an all Andrew Flintoff show, one of the great all rounder of the world cricket. It was the dream bowling spell in the last day that sealed England the game. The third test was played at the Edgbaston, Birmingham. It came up with out result as expected. The track is never known to produce a result even if in the last English summer. But still it came to the pick of the excitement as the match was saved by the brilliant hundred from Australian vice captain Michael Clark and the new comer Marcus North. And at the end of the final day the Aussies got so much of confidence which helped them to move to the Leeds with a wide heart.

As expected The Headingley, Leeds was full of English crowd singing their national anthem and supporting their home team but it was not last for so long as the Australian pacer get England all out for only a mere 102 a serious performance from where England was unable to come out and eventually they loss the match. Now the series evenly balance at 1-1 every one is looking forward to the series deciding encounter at The Oval. England would definitely like to the presence of their great all rounder Andrew Flintoff who was unable to play in the last test and Australia can only pray God for the recovery of the pace man Bret Lee who is having the same injury problem. But no doubt cricket fans across the world are desperate to see the beginning of the final test which has been scheduled on the 20th August. So guys don’t miss it…
