Mothers Rights – Child Custody Facts
In the past century we have seen a lot of changes when thinking about mothers rights to child custody. The beginning of the 1990s saw fathers get most custodies. This happened at that point in time due to the man’s financial power. Nowadays money does not stand out as such an important factor in determining who will get custody. Today we are happy to see an equal importance given to rights of both parties. Although the mother might not gain as much money as the father she will not lose custody because of this.
Till the seventies new changes appeared in custody giving. That was when most people ended up believing that the mother needs to have sole caregiver privilege. All eventually led to some standards that are currently used. Nowadays we are faced with one decision based on the child’s best situation. Even if this is the case we can see a number of courts that will favor mothers when dealing with custody battles. These are basically courts that hold the mother to be one important care giver and will offer extra rights due to a belief of them being involved in all aspects of the life of the children. Contrary to what most people think, although you may not be financially stable the possibility of gaining advantages just because you are the mother is reality. There are different strategies that work wonders in getting custody.
While the mother’s role is very important we have to understand that the father is equally important. Nowadays we all are aware of the importance of having both parents involved in the life of children. If the parents divorce and a child custody case begins, problems will appear. Even after a divorce we can say that having both parents around the child is the best possible solution. While most of the current custody rights courts will favor mothers, it does not mean that both parents are not analyzed. The one solution that is ideal is to look for an arrangement that will suit the main interests of the children.
