Tennis is one sport that basically appeared a long time ago. It did constantly evolve and we now see a spectacular game on TV. This is definitely true for women’s tennis and men’s tennis. The problem is that we see less people interested in practicing it these days. One huge reason why we see this is that the evolution other games have is much bigger. An important question rises. Can Men’s Tennis lose all popularity?

No stands out as the simple answer to this question. We say this as this is one sport that still stands out as highly popular. Even if the bigger financial power that different sports have did have an impact on the number of viewers, tennis still has a strong fan base. Ever since Pete Sampras retired and played his last game the popularity decline in USA has been constant. Different sports like American football, ice hockey and baseball have a much higher popularity there. Europe comes with great news when talking about men’s tennis. Here the only real sport that stands out as more popular is soccer. We constantly see kids that are starting to play tennis and this is encouraging.

Men’s tennis has a huge problem in the fact that it does not offer that much excitement. It is not as spectacular and only some moments of the game are really interesting. Although the action is not fast paced, endurance is very high. It is really difficult to spend hours playing tennis. We can definitely say that this is the one main reason why this sport can not lose all of its popularity as time passes. Playing a game of tennis will improve your physical condition like few games can. To lay it down simply, we do expect to see a colapse in popularity offered by men’s tennis in the future although it should not cause any serious problems. There will always be people playing and tournaments held.

When it comes to Women’s tennis equipment you can clearly understand why it is crucial that it is different than the men’s. Although you might believe otherwise, shoes are really problematic. Just think about this! If you play for 2 hours or more straight you will be running a lot. The impact felt by your legs is not to be taken lightly even when playing the tennis game on a grass surface. Shoes that you are to wear are trully really important. It is definitely really important nowadays to buy those women’s tennis shoes that are great for you. The importance of this equipment part can only be suprassed by the racquet.

We now have hundreds of models for women’s tennis shoes. There are models that are cheap and models that are expensive. We are quite sure that you will find this decision to be difficult when looking at the many models available. If you have a small foot we need to recommend that you purchase women’s tennis shoes that are custom made. The reason for this is that finding one pair that stands out as fully comfortable is quite hard.

Now thinking about what you should actually buy is difficult for most players. The good news is that it is not actually that hard. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, a big brand does not necessarily translate in a shoe that is perfect in your case. You need to choose those shoes that fit your personal foot type. The heel box stands out as one of the parts of the shoes that needs to be properly analyzed. The main reason for this is that control given when playing.

You are also looking for flexibility in shoes and this can be tested when you bend it. If it will bend easily then we are in front of good flexibility. Look for shoes that are shock absorbent and offer good cushioning. The last important thing to analyze is the playing surface. After you go through all of these checks you will surely choose the Women’s tennis shoe model that best suits your own personal needs.

Contrary to what many believe, a lot of people do not know how to properly read hockey statistics. In most cases people that do are gamblers or really huge fans. If you are amongst the fans that are not aware how to actually understand hockey statistics you need to actually learn the abbreviations used. While some are really logical, some are not. If you know how to read hockey statistics you will immediately see the level of performance that any player or team has. We will now tell you the abbreviations that are used at the moment.

Two hockey statistics that are really popular are A and G. We use G to talk about goals and A to talk about assists. You are to see PTS also, which refers to scoring points. This is obtained by adding A and G. PIM will show you the minutes that one player spent in penalty. TOI is a term that measures the minutes one player did spend on ice while GP refers to the number of games that a player showed up in. Performance is usually analyzed thanks to PPA and PPG. These stats show you the number of goals and assists that a player averages per game. You will also want to look at SHG and SHA to see how many assists and goals were done while the team of the investigated player was shorthanded.

If you look at the goal keeper you will find only minor differences in stats. We have GA, which means goals against. This is going to show you the number of goals that one goalkeeper received. SOG is used to describe shots on goal. SV is one term that does count as it refers to how many shots a goal keeper deflected.

Speaking generally about team hockey statistics we can find it really easy to understand how to read them properly. As it happens in so many sports, W stands for wins and L for losses. GP is used to describe how many games a team played and T is used to describe ties. You are definitely going to also read GA and GF, two abbreviations that show how many goals were received by a team and how many were scored. As you definitely see at the moment, it is really easy to look at hockey statistics. You only need to know the abbreviations that are used so that you can read hockey statistics.

In most cases hockey camps are held for young or new players. The main goal coaches have is to integrate people and improve skills. Do not make a mistake and think about tryout camps as we are talking about a camp that is not based on tests. Even hockey camps can sometimes be attended only if you receive an invitation to do so. We can say that players basically learn how they should be working with different players and impress coaches and scouts. There is a high level of competition when talking about hockey camps. Some tips should be followed to make it more easily.

First off, people should look at the hockey camp and realize what type it is. Learning and improving are the most important aspects you have to look at if you are a team member already. If you participate in a tryout hockey camp you will need to mainly think about performance. It is impossible not to be noticed if you bring your A game, have a determination level that is high and keep staying focused. You will always make mistakes if you are a novice player. When mistakes happen what is really important is to basically try to make it up as fast as possible. Coaches do love determination.

When faced with a hockey camp that is professionally built a lot of young players will start getting worried. You can easily end up failing. They usually forget to showcase the talents that they have. Unfortunately people can spot all hockey player weaknesses. A good hockey camp is built for this. The good news is that there is no hockey player out there that does not have weaknesses. There is no perfect player. When you go to a hockey camp the weaknesses have to be analyzed and you need to improve on them. If you are trying to impress a coach or scout you should aim to do those things that you know you do best. You need to always think about doing the best that you can and never do comparisons.

We all know that kids have different ambitions and wishes from their lives. In most circumstances it is really important where the kids live but energy is one factor that is common to all of them. The energy really has to be properly released, thus an attractiveness for sports playing. One youth sport that is really popular in some parts of the world is ice hockey. You should really look for hockey coaches that are good, especially if we are talking about your child. Both children and even teenagers will deal with the same things.

A huge problem in hockey coaching stands in the fact that there is a constant need to control players. We are referring to one game you will find to be quite energetic and definitely violent. We can see that many kids do have a real problem with such a fact and this leads to too many fights. It does not matter what hockey form you play as you still have to be really careful. If you are a coach you will have to ask for discipline and receive respect from the entire team.

If you do want to be a hockey coach and your experience is not enough problems will appear. In most situations the coach is a former player or did take some of the available classes in order to become a coach. Unfortunately, when dealing with kids especially the coach might have no experience whatsoever. The best coach is the one that is firm and gentle at the same time. Passion is a key aspect. Hockey coaching requires a lot of passing and caring for the players that are following your indications. You have to properly understand weaknesses and strengths so that you can control them all. Best players usually appear because of the work done through hockey coaching. We do have to say that this is definitely something that you have to remember. If you do not have the proper experience you should start learning and understanding everything that is linked with hockey coaching.

It is a common belief that hockey is not as popular in USA as in Canada because of the fact that most people do not understand the hockey terms used. You can not properly enjoy a game if you do not understand all that the commentator will be saying. While thinking about this we can clearly understand that common hockey terms need to be understood. As with any sport out there, we do have many terms but some are really crucial in understanding the game properly.

While common terms to most other games like goals and assists are not a problem there are only few that will know what “Jimmy really wants that biscuit” means. The puck is sometimes called a biscuit. Breakaways take place when players pass the opposition and are faced with a situation where open shots on goal are possible. We also have Dangle. If we see a player that has good stick handling skills he is described with the use of this term. Deking or Deke are used to describe fakes done by a player. Also, if you hear that someone uses feeding as word it usually means passing. For instance, “Marc fed Danny“. Five Hole is one funny term. It represents the area that is open on goal between the legs of the goalkeeper. Since we are talking about the goal you should know that terms like Roofed or Top Shelf refer to a top part of the net. If players score in that part of the goal we will say that they roofed it. The goalkeeper might also be described at times as being a Target. He will be using TWIGS, a term that simply means hockey stick. In the even that it is told that one player has Wheels then he simply has a high ice skating speed.

You will surely be faced with a much better experience in the case in which you do understand those hockey terms that are common. While there are many others that are used, these are definitely the most confusing for everyone. Do not be among those that are deceived and learn how to understand properly hockey terms.

Contrary to what you might believe, the popularity of womens hockey is constantly growing. In fact, this is one sport that is mostly for men and not women. In the last ten years we saw a 350% increase in the number of women hockey players. The only real problem is that we are not faced with many women leagues when compared to those dedicated towards men. We are sure that few people actually believe that there are as many as we see now.

1970 was the year when it was official that a woman became a pro hockey player. It was then that Karen Koch signed a contract with Marquette Iron Rangers. 1998 stands out as history for womens hockey as this was when the Winter Olympics included a medal for it for the first time. In the event we saw USA winning the gold medal, Canada the silver medal and Finland the bronze medal. It is really interesting to see the fact that we had several women that played along side men. For instance, Tamba Bay Lightning did play some games in preseason with Manon Rheaume as goal keeper. There are actually many women that are included and did play in minor hockey leagues in North America.

One huge difference between womens hockey and men hockey is that you can not use body checking. It was eliminated in 1990 because most female players from around the world are not as strong as those in Northern America. Nowadays it is the referee that decides how serious a penalty must be given when body checking is seen. Also, women competitors do use full face masks. While the pace and brutality of womens hockey is not to be compared with men hockey it is still a sport that is growing in popularity. It is expected to see an increased number of women playing in the future as this is one sport that does create an addiction for most people that try it.

Nowadays Ice hockey, commonly referred to simply as hockey, is really popular. In different countries large parts of the population love this sport the most. This is a team sport that will always be played on an ice surface. We have skaters that are using sticks in order to direct pucks towards the other team’s goal. This sport is really fast and physical. Most of the countries where we see that huge popularity of ice hockey are basically countries with a colder climate. Very good examples can be Sweden, Finland, Russia and Canada. Canada has its official wintersport in ice hockey and this is also because this is where the game actually appeared and started developing.

Ice hockey does have its origins a long time ago. Although they might not be seen like this the experts agree that modern ice hockey started to develop in Montreal. The first ever indoor ice hockey game was played in 1875. The game evolved as time passed and the first championship of the world took place in 1883. At the start of hockey teams had nine members and then seven members. The Montreal City Hockey League appeared 2 years later. What is interesting is that in the year 1893 we actually saw around 100 teams that were based in Montreal. Ice polo was at that time really similar and played in USA. As time passed everything evolved and we got to the actual ice hockey game so many people love today.

Nowadays all players have equipment in order to protect most body parts. This is definitely because a lot of injuries appear with ice hockey. Unfortunately a lot of serious injuries can take place because skaters will travel even at speeds of 50 KM per hour and we are in front of a really fast paced game. Unfortunately many players are sometimes forced to retire due to serious injuries suffered on the ice. Head injuries are really damaging and you will actually see concussions and even face cuts quite commonly.

Even if the brutality of the sport has been criticized there is no denying that ice hockey has numerous fans. This is one sport that is mostly for men and although women do play hockey the level of popularity of men ice hockey is much higher. A lot of penalties will be given in games and you will even see fights. Ice hockey can really be described as one game that requires power.

Street hockey is a sport that is known under many names like ground hockey, easy hockey, road hockey or ball hockey. Basically this is a hockey form that you can either play on foot or skates. Games will be held ion outdoor environments like streets, parking lots and asphalt surfaces. The main difference between street hockey and ice hockey is that street hockey is not as physical as ice hockey. Players do not really wear too much gear even if you will notice protective items used. Since this is one hockey form you will see most of its popularity in countries where ice hockey is also highly popular.

Street hockey is an ice hockey variation. We are faced with the puck being replaced in most cases by special rubber balls. There are also some special pucks that are built for roller hockey. When using pucks you will also see one additional rule that says you are not permitted to raise the puck. As the name implies, street hockey is one game usually played on an asphalt surface. You will commonly see it being played in tennis courts or basketball courts that are outdoors. Even if not many know this fact, street hockey that is played indoors is actually floor hockey.

Since there is no heavy protective equipment for players you will not find body checking. We can say that the physical contact permitted is similar to that seen in basketball. The rules are sometimes different from one area to the next one. In Canada you will see different variations of street hockey and often games are held in lacrosse boxes. The reason for this is that this is a game that will feel more like playing hockey when it takes place in these locations. We can say that street hockey is much more accessible if we compare it to pro ice hockey. Even if your physical level is low you can still play the game as it is not as important as in ice hockey. It is all about fun and this is why it is popular.

Hockey is really popular these days and it is easy to understand why. This game is definitely spectacular and fast and older than most people think. All basically started thousands of years in the past. Games with sticks, rocks and balls were played much before you did imagine till now. Such games stood out as highly popular in regions like Europe, Egypt and South America. England is the country that holds the roots of hockey. There we saw many games held in competition between various villages. One team had even 100 players. Many serious injuries were seen in games that lasted days.

We saw a beginning of modern hockey history in 1860. At that point Eton University came up with a new rules set. North America at that time had players of its own. The first hockey game ever was played in 1875 in Montreal. It was held between college students. An association was formed and new rules started to be developed. Hockey history definitely was changing. As time passed we were faced with a constant increase in popularity, which led to the first ever world championship in 1883. We saw a dramatic change in rules and protective equipment started to be really needed.

One fact that few realized is that hockey was helped out a lot by Olympic Games when talking about popularity. In 1924 we saw it played there for the first time ever. One piece of hockey history linked to the Olympic Games was when an amateur American college team defeated the Russian favorites. We know of that moment as Miracle on Ice. Americans started to like the sport even more then. Now in the 1917 established NHL we find 30 teams. 14 teams are Canadian and the rest are American. This translates towards our days when the popularity of modern hockey is huge. This is one game that comes to the table with billions of dollars in revenues, constantly growing. It is quite unclear the levels that can be reached but we do expect constant rises in future hockey history.
